NON-OEM CERTIFICATION
Manufacturers or remanufacturers marketing their products as replacements for original equipment manufacturer (OEM) components on certified engines must demonstrate that their own components do in fact achieve equivalent emission levels. This can be done either with an engineering assessment or through comparative emissions testing. Either approach must demonstrate that the non-OEM component is equal to or better than the OEM part.
